Joe's bookDon’t miss this special evening highlighted by a visit and presentation by one of Tallahassee’s most beloved authors and naturalists, Joe Hutto.

The Society will be honoring Joe with its Gold Medal, an honor bestowed each year upon an individual whose career achievements in science and science education and outreach are deemed exemplary.

Immediately following the Gold Medal ceremony, Joe will present a short film excerpted from Touching the Wild: Living With the Mule Deer of Dead Man’s Gulch, which aired on PBS stations nationally in March. He’ll then describe the background of this incredible film that is based on his new book on the mule deer of Wyoming and reveal tantalizing insights into how it was made.

The event will conclude with a short membership meeting in the theater in which the slate of 2015 officers will be discussed and approved.
